Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
